A quality unit for your experiments, coiled around a divided wooden spool are 4 lengths of copper wire (22 gauge, 10m long; 22 gauge, 20m long; 28 gauge, 10m long and 28 gauge, 20m long) and 1 length of copper-nickel wire (22 gauge, 10m long).
